I know each of my children was fearfully and wonderfully made. That God created them to be their own person and have their own personalities. I thank the Lord for the uniqueness of each of my children and I pray for the Lord to continually remind me that they are each different.
JT, my first born, rule-follower, obedient, respectful young man has never pulled a ticket at school. At our school, there are consequences when the children are not obedient. We have NEVER had to experience what happens when you do pull a ticket with JT because JT has never pulled a ticket.
That being said, my Curly pulled a ticket today! I am hoping that it is the first and last! He says his friend was talking to him and he didn't hear Mrs. Seeley and when he answered him, he was told to pull a ticket. He came home with a paper for me to sign and he cried for about an hour. He is such a shy, quiet boy, so I was a bit surprised that his ticket was pulled for talking! I would've thought it would've been for his strong will or stubbornness (he is a lot like his mama). But, no it was for talking!
It was a first for us....but I'm sure it may not be the last. He is not looking forward to the talk he will have with Daddy when he gets home!

Oh whooophooohooo! (That's me, Mama laughing) Sorry, Sister, but I have to laugh. My OLDEST 'turned a card' in our 'burb --- and much like yours, is the epitomal first born. Obedient, respectful, law-abiding to a fault...he cried the entire day. He hasn't turned one since! Curly will set it straight! And if not, his teacher will love him anyway, cuz he is so darn cute!

Daphne pulled her very first ticket in 4 years at CCS yesterday and I'm so glad that we got it over with. I was afraid that she would be mortified and cry forever, but she had an amazing attitude about it. She told me that she was standing in line waiting to go down to the carpool lane at the end of the day and that her friend came up to her and said hi to her and Daphne said hi back. The teacher made them both pull a ticket. Daphne looks at me and with her zany sense of humor says "Oh no! I pulled a laminated piece of construction paper! What will I ever do!" I was so relieved that she didn't beat herself up over it, but I am a tiny bit scared that now that she doesn't have the prestigious "no cards pulled" status that she may become more lax in being on her best behavior :)
P.S (does this thing cut me off after a while...I should see how long of a comment I can make :) Gretta told me today that during recess Curly came up to her and asked her to chase him! Too cute!
welcome to the club friend:)
Girl. How many tickets would we have pulled? I shudder at the thought.
My boy got benched yesterday for forgetting his homework. He is really starting to get this "personal responsibility" lesson.
Best part if it was his homework was in his backpack, he just didn't see it.
I wouldn't worry about Curly. It can't be easy growing up behind a smart, obedient child.... just ask my little sister.
I crack myself up.
