That Day came yesterday....

Yes, it did.  The day that you send off your youngest child to preschool.  The day you cry because you realize you are entering a new stage of life.  A stage with 6 hours of free time.  A stage with no diapers, pacifiers, bottles or sippie cups.  Well, that day came yesterday for us.

My little Cupcake started preschool yesterday.  At drop off, she held onto my hand while our women's ministry director led the preschool in a word of prayer.  She looked around confused as little girls she didn't know tried to hold her hand.
Lining up in a circle for morning prayer

She followed her teacher to the wall and tried to find her place to line up!  She stayed close to her best buddy, AJ, and made sure they weren't too far apart.
Lining up for class
She followed her teacher into the classroom and sat in circle time.
First Day Circle Time

Mama snuck out and watched outside the window - tearful and happy at the same time.  It was a bittersweet moment for me. After 8 years of having at least 1 if not 2 children home with me, my baby started school.  And, although it is only 6 hours a week....it's 6 hours a week my baby is somewhere else!

She is ready and mama is letting go (just a little bit for right now)!

Oh my gosh - I LOVE their little stickers that read:
I had a great first day
in conjunction with their fabulous spontaneous monkey faces!

And, Sister, I'm feelin' ya - I have three at school at the same time that the baby naps. (if I could italicize those last three words I would!) Thus my revitalized attempts at organzing my space!

So cute to see your Cupcake and her little bud, AJ, sharing this special moment. My heart started to beat faster after reading this because my time will come on Tuesday. It will be a bitter sweet day when I drop Mason off to Pre-school.
Enjoy your 6 hours of free time!
