Why I hate Trash Day

This has been a crazy week.  I don't have anything exciting to post, but am tired of looking at my cupcake recipe on the front of my blog!  We'll get to why I titled this post later, but here's what has been going on this week for D:

I have been working mornings at the kids school with the entire auction committee for the rally this weekend...there are some great silent auction items and I think the event is going to be amazing!  I must say, my daughter is an almost perfect child.  She spent 6 hours on Monday, 2 hours on Tues. and 4 hours today in the faculty room watching mama put together auction items.  She is truly almost perfect...don't get me wrong we have our moments (i.e. last night at Curly's game).

Both boys had games this week - so we were a little nutty getting out to the games- thankfully we left the house with out missing any baseball items.  Curly had some really good hits (as far as t-ball goes) and JT had a good game.

I am a busy bee getting ready for this weekend, which I will post about later!

Now, here is the reason I HATE trash day....

I got up this morning to go on a run.  It was a beautiful morning, although a bit overcast.  Got home from the 4 miles I ran and didn't even think about the trash cans.  Got the kids up and dressed, started to make breakfast and lunch when I heard it, the dreaded "beep, beep, beep" that the truck makes when it's making it's several-point turn in our cul-de-sac.  JT was laughing so hard - he said to me "mom I've never seen you run so fast out of the kitchen". I bolted from the kitchen to the side of the house and started to pull out the recycle bins when I noticed it was the garbage truck (not the green waste or recycling), I threw the rolling recycle bin onto the neighbors yard, grabbed the garbage and started running up the street to have the truck take my garbage!  The driver, although he was kind enough to empty my bin, was laughing at me!  I must have looked like a crazy woman!  And, my loving, wonderful husband of 10 years,  was just standing in driveway laughing at the sight of his wife throwing trash cans!  And, he asked my why I didn't take care of it when I got home from my run....hmmmm I was thinking about how to get the kids up and get myself ready in time to leave at 7:45.

Now, I've been told that there are two kinds of jobs in the household - Pink Jobs (aka - mom jobs) and Blue Jobs (aka- man/husband/sons)- isn't the TRASH supposed to be a blue job?  I was exhausted before I even got the kids out the door this morning!

Here is my question for you....Do you have Pink Jobs and Blue Jobs at your house?  If so, what are they, so that I can get a little clarification for myself!

Blue Jobs??? Trash is definitely a blue job, but in my household it often gets pushed to a "Pink Job" too.

Trash is totally 100% a blue job. It just is. The only time I deal with it is when DH is out of town. Now I have J empty our trash when DH is out of town because it is a BLUE JOB :)

The rest of the running of the house seems to be PINK so the blue job has to remain!

Dai you all should move to Chicago! My garage is in the back of my house with access from an alley (common here) and my cans "live" at the side of my garage door so I don't have to remember that it's trash day! The garbage truck drives down the alley and the cans are already in place! It's great. I actually used to keep the cans in the garage until I did the fast sprint down stairs and out the back in my PJ's one too many time. Now I'm smarter!

trash is definitely blue... one of these mornings you and matt will have to chase the trash truck down the street together!
