Today we made some real HOMEMADE Magnolia's Bakery Cupcakes (yes, from the Bakery in NYC). I found the recipe online and decided it was a good week to test them out (E could reward herself for completing the Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday and I could have the dessert I needed to provide for tonight). They were yummy - the cake was fluffy and the frosting was creamy and delicious. So, to avoid eating all ourselves, E and I decided it would be best to take them to the family potluck tonight at the preschool. We had a great time making these friendly cupcakes.....I am really glad we decided to bake these instead of taking a field trip down to sprinkles.
I think the kids enjoyed them too - as you can see!
It was a great Tuesday afternoon baking at our house.....

dai, those look good. a couple of weeks ago gina and i made the magnolia bakery ones, that we got off of the website, but the frosting turned out NASTY!! did you make their frosting or a different one? we had to throw them all out, it was such a bummer :(
I got the recipe off of Sara's secrets on Foodtv.com....it was really good - we used less sugar than it called for. I will e-mail you the recipe to see if it is the same one. These were tasty!
