All my life I dreamed of being a ballerina. When my running partner/friend suggested that our daughters (who happen to love eachother and are the very reason we are friends) take a mommy and me Ballet class, I was thrilled. I was so excited at the thought of my baby girl learning to do something that I had only dreamed of as a child. So, we went on Monday to buy her black leotard, ballet slippers and tights. I was so excited....did I know how to properly put her hair in a bun, would she love it or not have any interest in it all. I had to remind myself, she's only 2 - it might not be her thing right now. Well, I must say.....this morning was one of the best days K and I have shared. We did some barre work (mom helped K do an arabesque), we twirled around the room, fluttered our arms like butterflies, we learned what 1st position looks like, we tapped our toes on the tamberine and we had mermaid arms! Oh, what a fun time we had and what a joy to be able to share this day with AJ and her mommy. And when it was all over, K said "more ballet" - mom was ecstatic!
