Alone time, well sort of!

My husband works a lot.  I'm not kidding when I say A-LOT!  Most weeks my children only get to see dad for about 30 minutes a day!  He leaves before they rise in the morning and he gets home in time to chat a little with them, kiss them, pray with them and say goodnight.  It's kind of sad.  My kids love their daddy.  My kids know he works very hard and they appreciate all he does to provide a great life for us here in O.C.  We decided a few years back that our annual Christmas gift to our children was a weekend alone with dad.  A weekend with no laptop.  A weekend with no business calls.  A weekend with out mom and siblings. Just dad and child alone.  So, my 10 year old decided he wanted his weekends to be at UCLA away games.  Last year they went to Tennessee. This year, they traveled to Texas.  With Tio Jon joining them, they put on their blue and gold and headed South.  The air was "thick and wet" according to JT.  The school and the scenery was beautiful.  A good time was had by all.  They had some good BBQ, they toured the University of Texas, JT stayed at the tunnel to high-five each player as they came out for warm-ups, they cheered on our Bruins to a V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!  A good time was had by all and JT loved being the center of Dad (and Uncle's) attention.  These are the moments that I know my children will cherish.  Priceless compared to a toy that will fade away with time!
