My little guy has been in his brother's shadow for the last few years. He's tried baseball, but he didn't like it. He didn't want to play soccer because he said JT didn't like it and he didn't think he would either. He plays basketball in the street with his brother, but always comes in with big tears because he can't keep up. We have had lots of tears over the years because Curly doesn't think he's as good as his brother. Curly has always complained that sports are "sooo long", that practices are "boring" and that he can't wait for it to be over. Well, I believe those days are over! About 3 weeks ago we (meaning Curly and Cupcake) started Karate. Curly and Cupcake are taking classes together. We go 3 times a week and I sit back and enjoy watching them in their class together. My little guy has discovered a new passion for a sport that is all his own! He loves Karate. He often says he wishes it was longer and more often. He is so serious and determined in class. Well, yesterday my boy earned his White Belt and was so happy (mama almost cried with joy). His Sensei told him that it is his responsibility now to teach his sister her 24 count and Student Creed so that she too can earn her white belt. I was so happy to see my boy earn something that is all his own. He was gleaming and proud too! Congratulations, Curly, on earning your white belt. I am looking forward to watching you grown in this sport that you love! Daddy and I are so proud of you!
