The Busy week ahead

I am having a little bit of anxiety over the busy week ahead!  It's here.  It's finally here, MARATHON WEEK!  I signed up for this marathon last January.  And, it's now here.  J is leaving for Asia on Tuesday for a week.  I leave for Oregon on Friday.  My kids are all going their separate ways for the weekend.  I am having so much anxiety over the week.  The week has just begun and I've got a million things to do.  I now have to pack all 3 kids and myself.  Get in a few last runs.  Eat right so I can store the right energy for this race on Saturday.  I am excited and nervous for the marathon.  I'm ready and I'm not.  Will my body be able to handle the 26.2 miles it will need to run on Saturday?  More importantly, will my brain be able to withstand the mental torture?  Will all my kiddos be okay?  How on earth will I be able to repay my amazing friends and Jon and Court for taking my kids and my puppy (who by the way was a very bad puppy today and ate my whole batch of pumpkin cakies)?  I realized tonight that I have to give this to the Lord.  I have to let go and let God take care of the details this week.  It's going to be a long week that I am sure will fly by much too quickly.  I've got a busy week ahead, that's for sure.

You have the right idea, my friend. When you give it up to God, He's gotcher back!

Here's my take: You're kids will be fine - they have an incredibly strong mother who has been giving their lives up to God from their very conception. This week's no different.

My first inclination was, 'I can't promise you about mental fortitude,' though ... cuz Lady, I've lost mine on only 13 mile runs! But here's what I do know, instead. (and you already know it, too...I'm just reminding you!) You take Him with you to that race, and you'll have the fortitude, too. Those days I lost it on the run, when I finally remembered who was running with me - I got it back. So. Take Him with you. And you'll do great! Do you have one of those shirts that says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" ? I purposely look for those while I'm running. I find them at just the right moments, if you know what I mean!

Now, on that note --- you'll do GREAT! I pray for positive thoughts and energy for you this week so that you don't dig a hole in your week. This is yet another moment to live fully - for the week of school for your kids, for the week of your life that you are LIVING every day. It WILL go quickly. So enjoy every nerve-racking moment of it! I canNOT wait to hear how Saturday went - when you can look back and see how it all took shape and you fulfilled this goal. (Now, come April when I'm trying to do the same thing in Nashville, send me this fine bit of wisdom. I'll probably want to deck you. But in a totally friendly Christian running sister sort of way. See?)

lovin' ya from the midwest!

How awesome your marathon is around the corner! Whatever happens it's a great accomplishment to even enter one. I can't even run 2 laps around a track. I'll be thinking about you on Saturday. BTW you have one smart pup ... pumpkin cakes sounds so yummy.
