I'm posting this so that you can all hold me accountable! I did it....I registered for my first 26.2 mile marathon! I hope you will all keep me in your prayers. I registered once before in 2007 - then suffered from 2 injuries during my training (pulled my hamstring and then had IT Band issues). I spent a lot of time in prayer last night after booking my travel - praying for God's hand upon me as I venture out on the road this year! And, a year of running it will be! I am scheduled to run 13.1 in March in my hometown of Agoura. Then I am scheduled to run the 10k Mud Run at Camp Pendelton in June and then the training begins and I will spend the summer training for my marathon in September! I've chosen a trail run that has a net elevation loss of 3000 feet (basically I'm running downhill for 26.2 miles). It's a beautiful run and I'm hoping the soft earth trail will keep me from having any running issues and act as cushion for my body! I am super excited and a little nervous! I can't wait to run this race and see God's wonder all around me!
So, there you have it! I've committed myself and I am going to do it! I've got my husbands blessing and support! Please keep me accountable and check on me every so often!
Here's to a great year of running!!!!!

Good for you! It sounds like an awesome run. I'll pray for no injuries to hinder your training.

Wow! What an athlete you are! I'll be praying for good health before your big run. VERY EXCITING! Keep us posted.
awesome dai. i am so proud of you :) what race marathon are you running? i just emailed you about the agoura half. i am still thinking about running that with you.
I am so happy you were over to visit me and my post to my sis. Yes, she was an incredible person and we miss her terribly. I am sure your nephew is the same. People who do not know these people are truly missing out on an experience in love and acceptance.
Good luck on your marathon. I used to hike quite a bit until I injured my knee. Now it is just a chore to climb my stairs.
YAY!! you're awesome!! it sounds mighty courageous and fun to challenge yourself like this. but you can do it!! :) and i can't wait to see your marathon after-glow.

wow! You totally rock! You are going to have a great year! I hope we see each other on the field. I love your idea of your praying basket. I want to do that next year. God bless you and your family. Happy 2009!
Daiana!!!!! You are a crazy woman! I used to be crazy like you with my running, but now I'm lazy. I want to be crazy in love with running though, so you are officially my inspiration for getting off my lazy rear end. If I don't run a marathon in May, I will definatly run something for sweet Quinn.
You're incredible woman! -Christine Myers
