Monterey Bay Weekend

We spent Last weekend in Monterey Bay.  I chose a destination race - The Big Sur Half Marathon on Monterey Bay- thought it would be a nice weekend getaway for the family.  We had a wonderful time.  We visited the aquarium, did the 17 mile drive, drove through Carmel-by-the sea and enjoyed some wonderful family-time.  It was a getaway, but not a vacation!

along the 17-mile drive...it was beautiful even with the clouds and approaching rain....

I had the best race of my life....I completed the 13.1 Half Marathon in 1:56:22 (a personal best for me), felt great and ran strong through the entire race.

Seeing Monterey brings back so many wonderful memories for me. i love that place!!
